This is the start of my new blog series 'Photography Inspo'. You've all seen those colour palettes made from photographs but this series makes a mini scheme to give you some inspiration. Do you have an image from a holiday or a day out that you love, or are inspired by? Do you have a photograph that you are really proud of? Do you need some inspiration for a new space? Then send me your photographs and I will choose one to feature in my next 'Photography Inspo' post, with a mini scheme inspired by your photograph.
Some of you may remember this photography from my trip to Ibiza! For those of you who missed it heres a link for you to have a read, so check it out We're Going To Ibiza! I love taking inspiration from nature and this image is perfect for that! A beautiful neutral scheme with a pop of colour to add some accents throughout the space. I have chosen to create a living room mini scheme, but you could re create this for any other space but just changing the type of furniture. So here is my mini scheme inspired by my Ibiza photography inspo.
I have chosen the more neutral, cream tones for my wallpaper choice! This one from Zoffany is great. It's called 'Ribbon Coral' and has this beautiful, subtle texture adding depth and detail to your walls. Would be great all over or mixed with a combination of paint in a lighter tone to allow it to become a feature.
Add a Statement
This sofa from Anthropology is a perfect colour to pick out the blues from the sea. It also contrasts beautifully against the Zoffany wallpaper creating a statement focal point. The velvet material adds a touch of luxury, the ideal feel for a living room, bedroom or dining room. The gold detailing and wooden feet bring in the lighter tones of the scheme but keeping with the natural feel of the photograph inspiration.
These side tables showcase a beautiful wood grain which will add warmth and texture to the scheme. They are a lighter coloured timber which marries with the lighter elements of the colour palette but emphasises the natural aspect of the scheme. These can be placed either side of the sofa or both in front of the sofa as a feature coffee table.
The antique finish to these lamps, from Heathfield, offer a perfect combination of rustic and luxury. The gold detail brightens up the scheme and adds a touch of glamour. The shade could be either pick up the neutral side of the scheme or the turquoise, teal aspects.
These cushions brilliantly pick up the shimmer of the ocean which will bounce the light around your space. The mink colour ties into the colour scheme and can be combined with other cushions in teals and creams to add more texture and pattern to the scheme. A brilliant, cheap and easy way to finish off your scheme.
I really enjoyed putting together this mini scheme for you I hope you did too! Please send in your photographs so I can put together a photography inspo post for you too, just post them on Facebook or tag me in them Twitter or Instagram and I will choose my favourite for the next photography inspo post. Also keep your questions coming in for #asksophieinteriors and I'll answer them all in next months post. Until next time...
