Copenhagen has always been a place I would love to visit. The colour, culture and chicness of the city makes me really want to go exploring! This photo is the perfect balance of culture and style and makes me want to book my flights now. It has inspired a scheme that is calm with a splash of colour and a nod to the nordic. I hope you like it!

Neutral Base

So with a nordic style in mind, I would keep the base of the scheme as neutral as possible. Whether that me with creams and taupe for a warmer look or with tonal greys for a cooler feel. A neutral base allows you to add colour and personal items into you space with ease.

Navy Wall

I absolutely adore this inky, dramatic, navy paint colour for accent walls. I think it's rich and warm and lush and it will look fab in this scheme! Paint one wall (or all of them) in a deep navy to ground the colour palette and give your space depth.

Orange Accents

In this photo you have a beautiful array of colourful houses and orange is the stand out colour. For this theme I would use splashes of orange to add a vibrancy to the space and energise it as much as possible without orange being too over powering. Orange also works great with navy!

Wooden Furniture

Nordic schemes use a lot of wooden furniture, anything with a visible, natural grain looks great! The rustic feel adds texture to a space and creates a sense of nature and warmth too. For extra trend points incorporate furniture with a tapered leg like the image below for the ultimate styled look.

Finishing Touches

To complete your scheme you want to add finishing touches that incorporate many of the elements of your scheme. This cushion is a perfect example of that. The colour scheme is perfect with its pop of orange and navy against the cream, but also for its fabrics. Linen is a very natural, tactile fabric and nods to the nordic feel of the space too. The perfect finishing touch.
