It's the 1st of July, over half way to Christmas which is just terrifying! I've been liking a very eclectic mix of things this month, possibly because the weather still can't make up its mind between sun or rain...at the moment its rain, lots and lots of rain...so here are my random mix of things I have been loving this month!
Clay wall coverings
I have been obsessed with clay wall coverings this month! I absolutely love them! They look so natural and create texture to warm up your spaces! If you find the right supplier that are also a very sustainable option for your home as they are natural product. I personally think a range of subtle colours is the best way to go, earthy tones and colours create a raw feeling! You can also get different finishes, some are more coarse then others, I really want to order samples to see the final looks.
Al Fresco Dining Settings
Al Fresco dining (dining outside) is a huge trend come summer time but obviously with a lack of sun at the moment it's not the most enjoyable experience. Never the less, I have been wishing for the sun to come out so I can enjoy dining outside, as the sun goes down, with good food and good company! In terms of table settings, I love a natural feel as you are outside! Try linen runners and placemats, lots of flowers and foliage for table decorations, candles (lots of candles) and lovely big platters for sharing!
forget flower arrangements, I am loving fern arrangements this month! They are a twist on a classic and look fab! Think of them as a temporary house plant, perfect for those who want a house plant but don't want the maintenance! Play around with a combination of different foliage to get a rustic, natural arrangement and add as much depth and texture to your vase as possible.
Dark Grey Paint
I think this one stems from the dark and gloomy weather, but I have become obsessed, yet again, with dark grey walls! I adore the moody, dramatic feel they create and the eye catching nature that they have. Pair dark walls with lighter toned floorboards in the same colour for a great contrast.
An oldie but a goodie! I've always had a bit of a thing for antiques, not all antiques but most and church pews are no exception! They have so much history and have done all of the moving they're going to do. They're made of solid wood and always constructed in the best way! They look great in entrance hallways and always add a touch of character to your homes.
So there you have it, my June Favourites! I told you they were an eclectic mix this month, I'm still blaming the weather. Do you have any interior design related questions?
