Home from home

I've just spent a few days in my family home and have noticed a few home comforts that I didn't realise I was missing. Lots of people move out of the family home and move into places that they can't call home - hotels, hostels, friends spare rooms. Theres nothing worse then not feeling at home so my tip to you, to make your home from home more homely, are the three C's: colour, comfort and collage.

Colour

A bland space creates a horrible living environment. You need colour to brighten up your space and make you feel happy. I realise that in some places you can't just grab a tin of paint and re-decorate but adding a few accessories in your favourite colour helps to add a personal touch.

Comfort

Comfort in a living space is key for a successful room. Being uncomfortable in your own space is a horrible feeling but adding a few home comforts help to make your rooms feel more cosy. In the bedroom, make sure the bed is comfortable, investing in a mattress topper to add to your exhausting makes the world of difference. Adding blankets, cushions and throws helps too.

Collage

There's nothing better then flicking through a few memories of friends and family to make you feel warm and fuzzy. So put photographs everywhere! Frame them, stick them, create a collage of your best photos to always have them in site.
