This week we have celebrated the birth of a Royal baby girl! Charlotte Elizabeth Diane is a beautiful baby girl and will be loved by millions. So in celebration of her birthday I thought I would post about children's bedrooms. It's so important to promote creativity and imagination within children, to inspire learning and playfulness and to allow them to have fun in a safe and warm environment. I have collected a few images to give you some ideas to hopefully spark your imagination into creating some fantastic spaces for your children.
Think About Space
This is a great use of space. A lot of houses still have these built in bridging units and putting a bed underneath is brilliant. When they get old you can spin the direction of the bed and use the wall as a headboard.
Think About Wallpaper
Using playful wallpaper adds some fun into their room. Whimsical papers like this one below are a great way to add a touch of eccentricity.
Think About Theme
A theme is a great way involve your children in the creative decisions. Ask them what they want the theme to be. Now I know that this might receive some over enthusiasm about about slides and castles and all the other wonderful ideas that come from children's minds, however, it makes them get involved with their spaces, which can only be a good thing.
Think About Pattern
I love this use of pattern. The stripes and the geometrics really draws the eye and creates interest which is exactly what you want in a child's space...an engaging scheme.
Think About Height
This is a great twist on the classic 'bunk bed' and a brilliant use of space. Using the height of any space really maximises its potential. The modern, sophisticated colour scheme is perfect for when they think their too old for pirates and princesses.
